Marcos Simon

Marcos was born in Zaragoza (Spain). After finishing highschool, he moved to Pamplona where he studied Pharmacy at the University of Navarra. Upon obtaining his MSc degree in Pharmacy, Marcos entered the department of Internal Medicine of the University of Navarra, where he investigated on novel methods for the detection of Hepatitis C virus. Simultaneously, he enrolled in a MSc program for Food Science and Technology at the University of Zaragoza. Upon completion of his second MSc degree, he moved to Lyngby (Denmark), where he enrolled in a PhD program at the Center for Process Biotechnology at the Technical University of Denmark and did research on novel methods for the production and purification of biopharmaceuticals, especially plasmid DNA. Upon obtaining his PhD degree, Marcos stayed at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Denamark as a researcher for two years.

In 2002 Marcos moved to San Sebastian (Spain). Since then, he has founded three biotech companies. The first one, now more an investing tool, was the origin of the second one which went bankrupt recently. The third one is still up and running.

Since mid-2012 Marcos has devoted his energies full-time to the development and protection of the technological solution that supports this business project and to start this initiative. Currently Marcos is fully dedicated to The Bolt-on Bioreactor (BoB) project.
